The Purple Woods (El bosque púrpura in Spanish) is a feature film script that I co-wrote between 2016 and 2017.
The plot, inspired by films such as M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs, Ridley Scott’s Alien, and Daniel Espinosa’s Life, revolves around two scientists interested in deciphering an enigma of nature guarded by a strange creature.
For different reasons, each will try to understand the complex nature of the “purple gold”, a treasure of nature that promises to be the cure for all of mankind’s ills. In their quest to unravel the forbidden fruit’s properties, they will awaken a mysterious creature that covets the purple gold even more than they do.
